We don’t listen to secular music in our house.  Why you may ask?  After I was saved, Jesus, through the almighty Holy Spirit, showed me that music is either of the darkness or the light.  Therefore, what is not of the light, bearing the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ or instrumental music from the Kingdom of God, is therefore darkness.  God created it all, but in the beginning the devil had a high position as an angel of music in heaven. (Ezekiel 28:12-13 You were the seal of perfection,
Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
13 You were in Eden, the garden of God;
Every precious stone was your covering:
The sardius, topaz, and diamond,
Beryl, onyx, and jasper,
Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold.
The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes (musical instruments and voice)
Was prepared for you on the day you were created.)  

 As we all know he has been sinning since the beginning, (1 John 3:8 He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work.) and his music with the disguise of soothing the soul, is actually brainwashing; cloaking its wickedness.  As with anything, our phrase is let this be a seed.  If God verifies it in your spirit, then it is of Him.  That being said, once saved however, common songs are unlistenable, as they all directly violate God’s Law, and His commandments.  I’m sure you have all heard the tale of the pied piper.  Well, the devil is the father of all lies. (John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.)
  I am baffled daily as I see those brainwashed people following after his lies, fooled by the sweet charms of his sounds.  He woos your soul by how sweetly he sings of his sins.  Children are born innocent and blameless before God.  With the exception of the wicked, they are born fearing and following Him.  What you might not yet realize is that the majority of the population is abused and molested.  These seemingly sweet songs are brainwashed into your being by your abusers.  They are not of you.  It is through these songs that their abuse upon you is reinforced.  

Ephesians 2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,(listening to worldly sensual music)  2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

 Be wary of what enters your ears my brothers and sisters.  I saw recently a disappointing video which could have had much anointing from the same producers of 180, a video changing the hardened hearts of many on abortion.  This video, while amusing, tries to correlate the Beatles and John Lennon as sort of modern day prophets.  What the host was missing was John Lennon was born into a wicked, abusive family.  He in turn, didn't repent for his sinful nature of his youth and seek God.  He abused his wife and children, later abandoning them for the lusts of the road and seeking what was right around the next corner.  He married again, falling into a mix of drug a drug induced daze and abuse. He was the voice of a new generation: a generation of teens flocking away from God and His holiness for the wicked, abusive, lusts of the flesh, greed, and corruption.  The “fab four” epitomized this, and Lennon himself, being the voice of this generation said that in reference to their large crowds, they were more popular than Jesus.  Bravo, Mr. Lennon, for this is the only thing that we are to agree upon.  I find his comments to be spot on with what most in the 1960s were thinking.  To watch a nauseating video of sixties youth dancing with their arms flailing in the air is but to witness a recreation of Moses seeing his people worshiping the golden calf.  (Exodus 32: 9 When Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces at the foot of the mountain. 20 And he took the calf the people had made and burned it in the fire; then he ground it to powder, scattered it on the water and made the Israelites drink it.
21 He said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you led them into such great sin?”
22 “Do not be angry, my lord,” Aaron answered. “You know how prone these people are to evil. 23 They said to me, ‘Make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.’ 24 So I told them, ‘Whoever has any gold jewelry, take it off.’ Then they gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!”
25 Moses saw that the people were running wild and that Aaron had let them get out of control and so become a laughingstock to their enemies.)

     The people on those videos appear to have lost their minds.  Peace and Love is of God but to say, sex – yes please, with anyone and everyone that I please.  Lennon and his Beatles band mates were by some accounts not only having heterosexual, but gay relations on the road.  Sodomy comes from the historical account of God’s wrath upon Sodom and Gomorrah.  Many even in the church today say homosexuals are to be accepted.  I dare say not so.  This is why God showed me that I can no longer listen to secular music.  For everything that is not of the light, is of the darkness.  What is not born through Christ Jesus and His holiness, is born through sin and the devil’s lies and deception.  For the devil’s lies and music only bring frustration, deception, and death through sin.  I myself was brainwashed from youth into listening to this type of music.  I was told nothing about Christ, and that the songs were innocent fun.  I was blind to it at the time, but the worse the lyrics, the more the song was praised.  Turning the hearts of children away from Jesus is not innocent fun. 

Matthew 19:13-15

13 Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” 15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.

Matthew 18:1-9

18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.

Jesus Warns of Offenses

6 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

8 “If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.

As the words to Amazing Grace go, I was lost, but now am found.  I was led astray from Jesus and his righteousness from birth.  I even slaved away working in middle school to finally buy a replica of one of their expensive guitars.   I gave away my guitar collection as well as other worldly things to leave all and follow Jesus.

Matthew 19:27-30

27 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?”
28 So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[k] or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

Even instrumental music can be sinful.  Songs such as the MASH theme, (which we just recently heard the words that praise suicide) and even trumpeter Doc Severinsen songs and the instruments that bear his name are composed/created through the devil’s guise of sin, and must be cast from you.  I am not here to cast judgment, but am man speaking what I believe the Lord wants me to say, however if it is him then he will confirm it in you.  Songs derived from Christ are uplifting, breaking you from hopelessness and despair: for anything of the Spirit, even instrumental music, is by nature healing and cleansing.  If the Lord has called upon you to play a musical instrument, He created you for this task.  Quiet your soul, for everything you need comes from the Spirit.  Shield yourself from the world so that you can hear His voice.  Everyone has had a song stuck in their head.  It is hard to hear the Lord while the devil’s chatter fills your brain like a broken record.  I pray that this message speaks to you my brothers and sisters, for our goal here is for you to come closer to Christ every day, for we know not yet when He comes.  Only through Christ do we have the power to heal the past wounds inflicted upon us.  Only through Christ are we given eternal life.  You can do anything for your family through Christ Jesus, who died on the cross for you, releasing you from your bonds and forever casting them upon the devil and those demons in this world who do his work.  I pray that the power of Christ compels you to know us as your brothers and sisters in the faith, so that you may inherit fellowship with the Spirit, and all that is eternal.
