The Levy Lie

A thoughtful article by our own: Michelle Svensson

Early this afternoon the doorbell goes off, all the dogs go barking and I throw on a sweatshirt to answer the door and calm the mob. I look like a train has hit me, or I’ve been bit by a zombie. I know I sound like one for sure. You see, I’ve had a bad head cold for a couple of days and am running low on sleep. I know I have makeup under my eyes, and to be honest, I probably don’t smell like roses, but answer the door I must- whoever it is can take me as I am.

I see two smiling ladies in red and instantly I know they are here to get my support for Milford’s school levy. (Go Eagles!) They ask me if I have any questions, to which I smile and manage to muster out a guttural, “no thanks, we already know how we’re going to vote” -I sound like someone with a voice box implant- “Then can I ask if we have your support?”, the woman on the right asks. “No, you don’t.” It sounds flat and even rude to my own ears- but what can I say, I’m sick- so I feel like I owe an explanation… “We believe in homeschooling,” I add, which still doesn’t seem like enough. So, I follow that with, “Just didn’t want to seem like we’re rude, stingy people.” “Oh, we’d never think that!” she replies…

Well, actually you do. I’ve heard it with my own ears from people in support of levies for years. This isn’t a new thing and it isn’t a local thing. It happens sometimes even twice a year, all over America- the dreaded school levy ballot. In my years, and I’m 29, I have seen the levy fail during the broad elections and then get put on again for spring voting, “Wait, didn’t we just vote on that, you think we changed our minds that fast?” "Well yeah, because we cut the busing, and figured people would be tired of driving their kids to school. We didn’t cut the busing because that is the area where we need the funding the most, but rather we use it as a manipulating tactic because we know it works."

They aren’t going to tell you that, and while most of us can see past this ruse, it still works because, frankly, not many people have the time to pick-up and drop off their kids at school. But, here I am losing track… When I closed the door I began to think, "Why should people have to explain the fact that they don’t want to pay (roughly) another $125 a year to the schools?" Every time there was a levy when I was a child the teachers constantly told us, “Make sure your parents vote for the levy because if they don’t we won’t having busing or field trips anymore!” Make sure? I’m 12, so what kind of tactics am I supposed to use on my parents to “make sure” they vote the way you want them to? I guess the same tactic that gets me the toy I want for Christmas… What? This doesn’t make sense. Kids are impressionable, if you tell them something, they’ll often believe it, so using kids to influence a vote seems like bad form.

But again, I wonder, why is it that across the board, people with less liberal views are touted as “stingy and mean”? When more often than not, people voting to keep their hard earned money, know the value of money and how to spend it wisely. They believe that you should prove to do well with what you have before you are given more. The budget for Milford School District is close to $67,000,000. There are roughly 6,300 students in this district. That means that the cost per student is $10,635 per year. Granted, I understand that much of that goes toward building maintenance etc…  But does that include the cost to buy, maintain, and run the flat screen tv’s that play throughout the school all day long? Unless you work at or have a student at the high school, you might not be aware of how far modern technology has taken over our schools. Now, the junior high is requiring every student bring their own laptop or tablet to school and do their homework online at home. Laptops are expensive. So is high speed internet. I like computers as much as the next person, but there comes a time as parents when you have to tell your kids, “no, I’m sorry, we can’t afford for you to have the latest video gaming system, you’ll have to get along with the one you have.” When you can’t afford something, you don’t buy it. That’s how I was raised. And if you need it bad enough, you work hard to earn it. If something breaks, you fix it, you don’t throw it out and by a new one.

That doesn’t make me stingy; it makes me responsible. It prepares me for the future, and saving instead of spending. The very values that we should be teaching our children are being thrown out and in their place is the non-value of “I want, I need, I have to have this to keep up with the kids next door.”

I would like to propose a new way of funding for the schools. Go ahead and put the levies on the ballot and make sure everyone knows how much would be coming out of their pockets, as I stated earlier, ours would be roughly $125. Anyone who wanted to vote FOR the levy leaves a check in that amount. If the levy passes, then they will have already paid theirs. If it failes, the money is still given to the schools because those people really want to help the schools out. “Well, wait a minute, that’s not fair, why should I have to pay if everyone else isn’t?” Good question. I don’t have any children and if and when I do I will homeschool them so the coin can easily be flipped. Fairness looks very different from all sides.

When I was a child being homeschooled was looked down upon and VERY discouraged. When my mom went to take my sister and I out of the public school system every teacher and principle she came in contact with told her she was a bad parent, and treated her like garbage. I wondered why that was, but I understand now why. If you were to witness the application process of the welfare program you would be shocked at how accommodating the case workers are. They will bend over backwards to get people any kind of benefit they qualify for. I used to wonder at that too. Wouldn’t they want to make it hard on people so they could save money? No, for the simple reason that the more benefits and programs they get people signed up for, the more FUNDING they get. The same goes for public schools.  In 2008/2009 each school across the country received federal funding anywhere from $5,000- $19,000 per student per year (http://febp.newamerica.net/k12/rankings/ppexpend ) based on proficiency tests.

Now I see. I’m guessing that was slightly less in 1996 when I was being homeschooled and my mom was getting bashed by teachers, but still, they saw it as affront. So of course public schools look down upon homeschoolers, they cause them to lose their precious funding.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe that EVERY child is entitled to a quality education, my way of going about it is slightly different then mainstream though. When people see a need and they have their own money put back in their own pockets, all of these very giving liberal people will give. Man kind is good, they care, they are giving. If given the chance they will see to it that privately funded charities will educate children who’s parents are unable. I’ll be the first to step up, or even take in and homeschool one of these children along side my own, or even better, help make a way so that their parents would be able to do so themselves.

You see, I believe that parents who are even considering providing for their child’s education themselves should be encouraged and praised! They should be put at the top of the social status ladder and not because they can afford private schools. What about parents who see it as a God given privilege to be hands on in their child’s learning? You tell someone you homeschool and they have a knee jerk reflex to attack you with questions of fear about all the reasons why they have “heard” homeschooling is actually “bad” for children. At the top of that being that they will be socially inept. This is the biggest load of bunk the public schools want you to believe. Just because you once knew this one family who had one son who was totally awkward and they homeschooled does not go for every homeschool family out there.
EVERY homeschooled child I have EVER come across was smart, witty, fun, and able to hold an intelligent conversation with any adult. Sadly, I cannot say that about every public school educated child. As a matter of fact, it is RARE for me to come across a public school child with those same traits. On the contrary, I am often sadly dismayed that many won’t look me in the eye, and are only able to give one, two, or three word replies when I speak with them and those are often prompted by their parents to do so. They are more interested in leaving the “adult” conversations in favor of a handheld video game. Sure they “grow out if it”… most of the time.

Now I don’t want to bash parents using public education, I’m not calling them out or saying they are bad parents, but rather I am standing up and praising those who have broken out of the mold and are taking their child’s education into their own hands, right where God put it in the first place. I am noticing a trend that the more I speak out praising these parents, the more I hear from the other side that they are offended at this. Why? If Suzy puts in more time, sacrifice and effort then Sally and comes out with a better project, then why should Suzy not be praised? This too is a mentality that is taking root in the public school system, that all kids should be praised equally no matter how hard they try. This is not the way the real world works and we are setting our kids up for failure by encouraging it. All kids should be praised but those that try harder than others should be rewarded.

A family with four children, who chooses to homeschool K-12 (let say using Milford’s cost per student) saves the system $510,480. Why on earth should that NOT be praised!? But wait, look at all the funding their school district didn’t get because they didn’t send their kids to public school! What!?

I could go on and on about the quality of education- homeschool verses public, or how a homeschooler wins the national spelling bee almost every year… but I won’t. I will leave you with the issue I started with. If I choose not to vote for the levy, I am not stingy, I tell you I believe in homeschooling because the numbers don’t lie, I believe in SAVING the system drastically huge numbers like the one above.

Diary of a Friendship

Someone told Jesus, "Your mother and your brothers are outside, and they want to speak to you.But he replied to the man who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers? And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, "Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother." Matthew 12:47-50

A friend is with you even while you go through things you don't understand or can't explain. Sometimes in life, right when you think you just burst through one roadblock,  you get  tossed into the throws of another. As odd as it seems to have friends alongside you while going through these of the darkest most painful parts, it is immense helpful to remember   "God loves me, loves us as a Christian family, and only wants his children healthy and sound minded. If there is unsoundness in me He knows I want to be sure footed and come to the place where 'nothing shall by anything move me.' "I can't tell you how wonderfully blessed conversation can be that is anointed and led by God. I have friends who speak the oracles of God, and at times all I keep thinking is "God you are so awesome. Thank you God for friends whose hearts are beating with your heart, whose words are ringing true of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, whose tongues right now are being utilized to PREACH the Mighty Word of God. We were tearing up the kingdom of darkness and bringing down every high name that would wish to exalt itself above the knowledge of God."

Ephesians 6:11-12  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil that you may successfully stand up against all the strategies and deceits of the devil. For we are not wrestling against flesh and blood,(contending with only physical opponents) but against the rulers, against the authorities,(master spirits), against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly(supernatural) sphere.

"Wow!!!!" I whisper to myself as once I walked in a beautiful meadow while one friend told of a dream they had with our uncle healed and praising God with his whole sound mind and body. We spoke of  bringing down of the wicked one to the place where he belongs UNDER OUR FEET...

My silent heart's whisper to the Lord is of just how amazing it is to be able to share with a friend the mysteries and truths that so many cannot see or understand. I am a grateful daughter to my High Priest, my King of kings, my Lord of lords, my Father and Creator of all life.  Our greatest friend, of course is Jesus Christ and when it seems we are all alone, we truly are never alone. As wonderful as the greatness of friendship in this world can be, nothing compares to having His arms around each and every one of us,His children. I pray for those on the highway of holiness, that you feel His love like  I do. That amazing love that comforts, when, for those brief moments we wish to be in the arms of the one God has for us, He wraps us up and says 'one day, yes, you will have that, today, the arms of God wrap you and you snuggled with the ALL encompassing King, whose love is perfect and never fails.'

True friends in the Lord are  ever seeking, ever changing into the glory of God.  They are young (and even old) men who allow the Lord to turn them from a frog into the most amazing princes.  They become godly champions of justice who any girl whose Daddy is the King would be highly honored to call her own.

So on this journey of friendship I see us as in a fairy tale book in a wonderful kingdom, fighting dragons and demons together, picking one another up when we stumble and fall. Helping each other find the Healing in the Lord when we uncover a cut or bruise or broken bone.

Using swords and arrows designed specifically to take down certain evil targets, the Word of God being our weapons as different scriptures extinguish the enemy and FAITH keeps us from their fiery darts.
13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,

Salvation, and knowing we have it, protects our heads, speaking and knowing the truth keeps our belt on which carries our weapons. Our feet can go for miles upon miles, never sore because The Gospel we preach brings us peace. Our vital organs will NEVER be injured for we walk in the righteousness of God. Above ALL, we walk in LOVE, which covers a multitude of sins.
15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of [c]saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.

You see, grace allows us to mess up and pick ourselves up and keep on going.  I have those in my life I count as true compatriots, embodying the wholeness of this message. Written, I say, by the hand of God. For we have traveled this road a long time, now in which we truly fight for the win, the victory.
Thank you, friends,  for choosing to stay on the Path, even when the road gets narrow or rough. Choosing to stay with Him despite ANYTHING is the mark of a true man of God and will always be rewarded. So, the scripture that kept going through my  head all night was 'Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart! ' Psalms 37:4  I say, Take that with you throughout this gloriously fine day the Lord has made...as shall I!

There are those we are born to and then there are those we are brought to by the power of God. Family, for a child of God, are those who do the will of God like Jesus said. He did not point to earthly "blood" as his family. Yet,  some of them will be our earthy family like Timothy and his godly mother and grandmother, James and John, Abraham and Issac. Then, like Jesus said, there will be those in our earthly family we have to separate ourselves from for they have made themselves enemies of the cross for they implore you not to obey the Lord your God. Our real family, are those who do the will of God. These are those we now call FRIENDS...
John 15:15 I don't call you servants any longer, because servants don't know what their master is doing. Instead, I call you friends, because everything I heard from my Father I have made known to you.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity
Proverbs 22:24-25 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
Proverbs 12:26 A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray
Proverbs 18:24 A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Boys Don't Hit Girls...(And Grown Men Don't Verbally Assault Women)

Boys Don't Hit Girls
(And Real Men Don't Verbally Assault Women or Children)

I recently found out the extent of abuse to a friend of mine.
 Here are my thoughts:
1.Boys don’t hit girls. Real men don’t hurt women or children . Not physically, not mentally, not emotionally.

We all pretty much know a husband/boyfriend shouldn't hurt their wives/girlfriends but this has to extend to all places in society. What about strangers, neighbors, friends, or extended family? Men, as stronger creatures have the responsibility to not "fight a girl." Have we come so far that when men hear of another man assaulting a woman (verbally counts) that they do nothing, they stand by and say “She can handle herself?” John Wayne, the iconic movie star was known is his roles as the protector of women and innocents. Men, if you see a female being hurt by a male, stand up and say “No, you will not do  this, I don’t care what you think she has done, you will not hurt her.”  I certainly wish people in my family or friends would have stood up, been men, against the barrage of pain inflicted upon Michelle, Mom, and I growing up. We sure could have used some chivalrous intervention to sway the tide of violence to a single mom and 2 little girls who had no means other than the Divine Protection of an Almighty God. More recently, in adulthood, oh man how I wish some men would have “manned” up against a tyrant bent on making our lives a living hell.

 2. When someone tells you of abuse being done to them and your first thought is “They don’t hurt me.”- watch yourself.

Ask “Is this person prone to lying or making things up?” Probably not.  Ask yourself “What would this abuser do to me if I confronted them on what they are doing?” If the answer is even a tiny bit of “ They will get angry and turn on me,” Then you’ve got an abuser. Abusers need to abuse. They find a target, latch on, then set out to make friends with all others around their target, to discredit their target and make themselves look like a good guy. Matt, Michelle, mom, Uncle Jac, and I each have been targets. Each of us have had abusers who are soooo nice to others but because we made these abusers mad in some way, (not our fault, it never is when it comes to this kind of angry person), they attacked us in secret. When we spoke out, some believed but not all. I’m actually glad for the opportunity to stand up for someone, at least on the inside of me- in  a way I know some God led friends did for Michelle and I when they listened to and believed our story of the cycle of incredible meanness done to us.

3. Want to know how to stop a bully? Starve them.

Don’t give them attention. When they invite you to do something, do not go. When they offer you presents, do not take them, for the Bible says “A gift spoils the heart.” And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blinds the wise, and perverts the words of the righteous" Ex 23:8 Ignore them, that is the best way to help a friend stand up to a bully. They will wither for lack of attention. They will wither for they get their power to do evil by having good people around them as their “friends” to make the appearance of being an okay person. So, if someone tells you someone is hurting them, then that hurtful person will try extra hard to be YOUR friend. Don’t let them in. Stand up for the person, like Matt, or Michelle, or mom, or I who would cry ourselves to sleep, who be nervous all the time- those are the people you stand with. Believe me, that abuser is not crying, they are PLANNING, planning their next attack. Planning how to deceive those around them. The WORST thing in the world you can do for an abused person is even be civil to their abuser.
So, for this friend of mine, I'm going to stand with them. This doesn't mean I actually have to DO  anything. In not  befriending the abuser, in ignoring them, I stand with the abused.
How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers! Psalms 1:1

4. Men, God has given you a gift to stand up for the weak and the abused. Men, you have a duty to stand up  when you see a woman being hurt by a man at work or in a family setting, or in your neighborhood, anywhere.

Women are weaker than men. This is not a bad thing!! God created women to be nurturing and caring and emotional to make a bond with their children and raise them. Husbands, in a similar way, live with your wives with understanding since they are weaker than you are. Honor your wives as those who share God's life-giving kindness so that nothing will interfere with your prayers. 1 Peter 3:7

5. The #1 Thing a Christian man can do is take care of husbandless women and fatherless children.
When men abuse women or children, they are in direct contrast to the VERY thing all of God's people are supposed to do- care for women and children.
Our Lord is A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.Psalm 68:5

Lastly, there might be a woman or child who cries wolf and of course there are wicked women out there but I daresay you can say your peace and protect your family from such females without becoming an abuser yourself and stooping to her level. I would highly encourage you to stand up against a Jezebel the same way you would stand against a man abusing a woman or child. the topic But here is, Men, you must take the high road, the one or responsibility and civility. Stand with the weaker vessels and God will make you strong.

Michelle's parable of sowing and reaping

This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! For God so loved the world (& ME!) that he GAVE His only begotten Son – that whosoever shall believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal Life!

Eternity is forever and it starts that moment you believe in Him!

Life- what is life? When something is alive- it grows- it increases. When something is dead, it stays the same or decreases. (Michelle definition here, not Webster’s… ;) It’s GOD who gives the increase! We shall have eternal increase when we believe in Him starting today!

As we get ready around here to start this garden season (and already have with our little seedlings!), I know that no matter how much we water, cultivate, plant, fertilize, or weed- nothing grows without God giving the increase.

In my own life, I know nothing grows without God giving the increase! But wait! I’m promised ETERNAL life- this Eternal Increase- because I believe in Him.

So what shall I do? What is my job or my duty once I have this gift? I plant- I cultivate- I water- I fertilize and WEED out my garden as well as own life! I show God that I rejoice in this day that He has made and am glad in it, by taking special care of the life and job He has given me!

I read His Word to cultivate and plant beautiful things in my soul- I water and fertilize by speaking of and praising His wonderful works! I weed out the things and people in my life that would choke these beautiful plants inside of me! And what does God do? He gives the increase! Amen!

Some people wonder and ask why we put so much effort into gardening? Why do we want chickens or dream of living a self-sufficient life? Kroger is right up the street and after all the work and toil, in the beginning we break even on the cost (except tomatoes, if you have ever bought them, they are expensive, you will always come out ahead growing tomatoes even with a bad crop!)…  Why do it? It’s hard work! Because I find as I do these things in the physical, and I watch what a miracle it is to see the multiplication of sowing and reaping, my faith is then multiplied by watching this stunning work in action! I can see just how God wants to increase me and my life! I can see generations and fruit increasing from me, from my family. I can see happiness, joy, life. LIFE! That increase of why we are here! God wants to increase His family! I can see why we were put here, I can in a very small way, see how our Father looks at us, wanting us to the best He created us to be. If I represent a stalk of corn, God the ultimate Farmer, wants me to be the biggest, tastiest, healthiest stalk of corn that can grow! He wants the very best for me and has given me all the tools and ability I need to be that prize winning ear of corn!

We do it because like all children, we look to our parents, we admire, we want to please and most of all we want to be like them. I want to care for a flock, I want to care for crops, I want to care for children, because… well because that is what my Father does.

Much love yall

~ Michelle

Why am I here? What is my purpose in life? What is God calling me to do?

Isaiah 58 Ministries                                                                           April, 12, 2013

Pastor: Leah Faith Svensson

Scriptures: Dueteronomy 28

  • 1 If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God:
3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.
6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.
7 The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.
8 The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
9 The LORD will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the LORD your God and walk in obedience to him. 10 Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will fear you. 11 The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.
12 The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. 13 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. 14 Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.

                                                                                 Sermon

Let Deuteronomy 28 speak to you today: If you don't plan on having

children God can not bless you, if you do not have crops God can not bless

you, if you do not have livestock God can not bless you, if you don't have

a barn or land God can not bless you.

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  He never changes, his plans never change. God has called women to be keepers at home, He has called men to be farmers.  It is all throughout the Bible, it is the Theme of the Bible.  The people on a farm live very wholesome lives because farming is at the heart of a happy healthy life.

If you are an American, then you are a Christian, as a Christian you are a great leader, You have great faith in God to lead people out of darkness into the light of Christ love for all mankind! We have this covered.

The Declaration of Independence is a work of God. It is the proclamation of Independence won on the cross by Jesus Christ. To live free from tyranny, free from those who would dominate others and deny our religious freedom brought by Christ. Our God given rights to worship God freely, like when the children of Israelites were set free from Egypt to worship God and him only!

Walk in God's anointed, you are ordained, as you have come out of slavery to the evil forces in this country and have God's power to set others free! Jesus set us free! You have you own freewill to live free, Godly, sinless lives and you are free to set others free, (by preaching the truth,) from those who "make" them do, believe, and act upon what they want done, instead of Walking in the freedom God has given all of us to Love God and him alone!!

The Word from the Lord this evening is: 65 % of Americans are farmers, everything else, (vocations, things people are called upon by God to do) is there to support this family run way of living, having faith in God to provide for all Americans. This is Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness, nothing can interfere with this system. This is America having faith in God's ways to support human life on this planet. The family is the center of everything, "home is where the heart is" according to God's divine plan for all of us.jc

  •  Women are keepers at home, men are farmers, this is what God has called us all to do to be healed, fulfilled, happy and have a high quality of intellectual , sound minded, life. That is freedom brought to us by the Declaration of Independence. Anything else is sinful men trying to enslave free men. (Evil men do not want to work hard, and do as God has called then to do; keepers at home or farmers.) Selfish people want to enslave us in their sinful life style's. But Jesus is our Savior and has saved us from all sinful, evil people (oppression)! Thank you Jesus!

    Curses for Disobedience

15 However, if you do not obey the LORD your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you:
16 You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the country.
17 Your basket and your kneading trough will be cursed.
18 The fruit of your womb will be cursed, and the crops of your land, and the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
19 You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out.
20 The LORD will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him. [fn1] 21 The LORD will plague you with diseases until he has destroyed you from the land you are entering to possess. 22 The LORD will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with scorching heat and drought, with blight and mildew, which will plague you until you perish. 23 The sky over your head will be bronze, the ground beneath you iron. 24 The LORD will turn the rain of your country into dust and powder; it will come down from the skies until you are destroyed.
25 The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will come at them from one direction but flee from them in seven, and you will become a thing of horror to all the kingdoms on earth. 26 Your carcasses will be food for all the birds and the wild animals, and there will be no one to frighten them away. 27 The LORDwill afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors, festering sores and the itch, from which you cannot be cured. 28 The LORD will afflict you with madness, blindness and confusion of mind. 29 At midday you will grope about like a blind person in the dark. You will be unsuccessful in everything you do; day after day you will be oppressed and robbed, with no one to rescue you.
30 You will be pledged to be married to a woman, but another will take her and rape her. You will build a house, but you will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard, but you will not even begin to enjoy its fruit. 31 Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will eat none of it. Your donkey will be forcibly taken from you and will not be returned. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and no one will rescue them. 32 Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, and you will wear out your eyes watching for them day after day, powerless to lift a hand. 33 A people that you do not know will eat what your land and labor produce, and you will have nothing but cruel oppression all your days. 34 The sights you see will drive you mad.35 The LORD will afflict your knees and legs with painful boils that cannot be cured, spreading from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.
36 The LORD will drive you and the king you set over you to a nation unknown to you or your ancestors. There you will worship other gods, gods of wood and stone.37 You will become a thing of horror, a byword and an object of ridicule among all the peoples where the LORD will drive you.
38 You will sow much seed in the field but you will harvest little, because locusts will devour it. 39 You will plant vineyards and cultivate them but you will not drink the wine or gather the grapes, because worms will eat them. 40 You will have olive trees throughout your country but you will not use the oil, because the olives will drop off. 41 You will have sons and daughters but you will not keep them, because they will go into captivity. 42 Swarms of locusts will take over all your trees and the crops of your land.
43 The foreigners who reside among you will rise above you higher and higher, but you will sink lower and lower. 44 They will lend to you, but you will not lend to them. They will be the head, but you will be the tail.
45 All these curses will come on you. They will pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the LORD your God and observe the commands and decrees he gave you. 46 They will be a sign and a wonder to you and your descendants forever. 47 Because you did not serve the LORD your God joyfully and gladly in the time of prosperity, 48 therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire poverty, you will serve the enemies the LORD sends against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until he has destroyed you.

You have you own freewill to live free, Godly, sinless lives and you are free to set others free, (by preaching the truth,) from those who "make" them do, believe, and act upon what they want done, instead of Walking in the freedom God has given all of us to Love God and him alone!!

Deborah vs Jezebel

Isaiah   58 Ministries                                             Deborah

Pastor: Leah Svensson                                                  vs

                                                                                                       Jezebel

Scriptures: Ephesian 1, Galatians 2:4, Galatians 3:1, Collosians 1:9, Romans 2,
2 Corinthians 11,  Judges 4:4, Proverbs 12:4, Judges 4:9, Titus 2, 1 Timothy 2, 1 Kings 18, 1 Kings 25

                                                                      Theme

Deborah was a woman devoted to God, holy, pure, virtuous, clean before God.  Jezebel participate in many different occults, she was a murderer, a sly, wicked, filthy minded Queen.

The Bible is like a carefully and meticulously woven piece of cloth or a high quality, finely made Tapestry.  You start with two pieces of thread and keep adding according to a precise blueprint/design.

With a tapestry there is always a threaded side underlying the design on top that is not meant to be seen.  With woven material you see all of the threads.

The Bible is a tapestry woven richly, meticulously by men led by the Holy Spirit. It isn't until you know Jesus as our Savior that the tapestry is no longer a tapestry that you hang on the wall or put on the floor. It then becomes a piece of woven cloth that God makes into a garment of salvation and a robe of righteous.  Only those who want to know God can see the woven cloth and want an outfit made by the hand of God.

The Bible, when woven correctly, can be seen as a beautiful splendid work of God!  Knitted together with the leadership of a very skilled worker, God, and you can see the craftsmanship in every little detail. When the Bible becomes a woven piece of cloth to you, you can easily see that it was impossible for a man to have written the Bible. From Genesis to Revelations you can see the higher intelligence of God.

So we need to see Deborah not as a tapestry, where you don’t see what is motivating her, what is in her. We must do the same with Jezebel.  We have to see these women as a piece of cloth, where you see what is beneath the surface.

When you read the Bible and only take out one or two threads, (scriptures), you start another religion, an occult. An occult that puts men into bondage, leading men away from God and put them into slavery to the devil and other men.

A lot of people have started a new sexually perverted “love” religion, where it is ok for women to abandon their children and even murder their embryo's/ infants to fulfill their sensuality, take care of themselves first, selfishly off of Deborah with this scripture taken out of context:

scripture:
Judges  4:4 Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading  Israel at that time. 5 She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided.

This new religion should actually be using Jezebel as their example of a woman leader not Deborah. Why? (See Sermon)

2 Corinthians 11:19 You gladly put up with fools since you are so wise! 20 In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you or exploits you or takes advantage of you or puts on airs or slaps you in the face.

2 Corinthians 11:26 I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. 27 I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. 28 Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. 29 Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn?

Galatians 2:4 This matter arose because some false believers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves.

Galatians 3:1 You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.

Romans 2:
28

A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29 No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God.

                                                            Sermon

                                               Deborah

There are very few women leaders in the bible because women are to be keepers at home and it is a sin for a woman to have authority over a man.  One woman stands out and feminists love to use her as an example or as a shield to condone working women.  But this woman had “great”, I mean “great” faith in God to see his laws taught, his word upheld, his love and protection proclaimed everywhere.  This woman is:

Judges 4:4
 Now
Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading  Israel at that time. 5 She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided. 6 She sent for Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, “The LORD, the God of Israel, commands you: ‘Go, take with you ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun and lead them up to Mount Tabor. 7 I will lead Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his troops to the Kishon River and give him into your hands.’
8 Barak said to her, “If you go with me, I will go; but if you don’t go with me, I won’t go.”
9 “Certainly I will go with you,” said Deborah. “But because of the course you are taking, the honor will not be yours, for the LORD will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh. 10 There Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali, and ten thousand men went up under his command. Deborah also went up with him.

She was the exception. Not the rule.

It is Not normal for women to be leaders in society. It is natural for women to be leaders in the home. Deborah had to be a leader because the men had lost their way. God couldn't find a man with the same faith she had in God to provide, deliver, and bring forth true justice. The men had all fallen into sin and were evil.  The men were afraid of their enemies.

Doing Good for the Sake of the Gospel
Titus 2:1 You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. 2 Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
6 Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7 In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8 and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

1 Timothy 2:12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;  she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women  will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety. (two exceptions; when there is no man with faith in God, and when the men do not know the way of God or are non-believers.  Then the woman has the authority of God himself.) This is what I have,. It is why I write this to you from God.

There is a huge difference between a woman who has faith in God and a prostitute, a woman who weakens a man using feminine wiles to get him to do evil, wicked acts, such at Jezebel!  A woman who has faith in God is Holy like a nun! Pure in thought, mind, and body.  So before someone uses Deborah as an example for women they better be really pure, holy, clean in thought mind and body!  Or else, they are nothing more than harlots leading men and women into sexual sin and depravity.

There are many religions, “god’s” for that kind of woman, Baal, Vensus, Medusa, etc.

wiles:
Noun
Devious or cunning stratagems employed in manipulating or persuading someone to do what one wants.
Verb
Lure; entice.
Synonyms
trick

In America we have millions of men.  Are you telling me that all the men in America are afraid of their enemies and have “NO” faith in God to save?  That is the only time you need a woman leader. Here at Isaiah 58 Ministries we spend every minute of every day seeking to be like Deborah. It takes a person who is very, very dedicated to living a life separate  in conversation, pure, holy, clean in thought, mind, body, fearing God rather than men. It takes a person who is very, very dedicated to living a separate life in conversation and apart from the world in order to have faith in God.

Not one person who I have heard espouse Deborah as God giving women the “right” to work outside the home, and be leaders, say that women have to be as dedicated to God, holy, devote, pious and godly like Deborah. On the contrary they say women cannot help but be sinful. They cannot help but be angry and frustrated at their children and therefore need to put them in daycare or public schools. These same women who desire leadership roles within the Church or feel God has a leadership role for them need to look first to their own homes, to being a keeper at home, to raising calm, honest, holy children. Then, the Lord will use them and no one will be able to stop them or shut them up. God has a place for everyone in the Body of Christ. Women are to teach the younger women how to be keepers at home, how to love their husbands and pray for them and lift them up.

Titus 2:3-5 ……teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind……

When we want to see what  a godly woman looks like, look no further than Proverbs 31. This girl does it ALL!! She sews, she cooks, she buys fields and runs them, she makes sure everyone under her is safe and well dressed and well fed. HOWEVER, when it comes to public or church leadership, it's her MAN that is in this certain position of leadership. It's precisely because she runs the affairs at home like a well oiled machine that her husband can take the time to discuss and take care of public and church issues that may arise.

" Well known in the gates is her husband,
Where he sitteth among the elders of the land."

Such a wife is, according to Proverbs 12:4, עטרת בּעלּ×”ּ, - she advances the estimation and the respect in which her husband is held. He has, in the gates where the affairs of the city are deliberated upon, a well-known, reputable name; for there he sits, along with the elders of the land, who are chosen into the council of the city as the chief place of the land, and has a weighty voice among them.

Deborah did not hold one of these "positions in the gates," rather, she stayed about 10 miles outside of the gates under a date palm tree and people came to her for her to judge in their disputes. I see many godly women doing just this in their families and in the absence of a godly man able to judge, someone's got to do it! However to tout Deborah as a real warrior is wrong. Deborah and God wanted a man to lead men into battle and it was because of his cowardliness in asking a woman to go along that it was another woman to eventually won the decisive victory over their enemies.

People  who desire to have women in the same position in leadership as men cannot quote the Bible to support their beliefs, they need to give their religion, their belief system, a different name like Jezebels. Jezebel was a wicked, merciless murderous, violent queen, or the harlot club or maybe even Amazon women, (and I'm not just talking about good online shoppers). Now Amazon women would be a good name for their religion, they believe in women having dominion over men and subduing them.  They believe women are to be seducing men into sin, lust, pornography, away from faith in God.  Men should put their trust in women as more than equals, smarter than men. (Just watch TV, this attitude of belittling, demeaning, and degrading men  comes a crossed on every show you watch.)

1 Kings 18:.....13 Haven’t you heard, my lord, what I did while Jezebel was killing the prophets of the LORD?.......

1 Kings 21:25 (There was never anyone like Ahab, who sold himself to do evil in the eyes of the LORD, urged on by Jezebel his wife. 26 He behaved in the vilest manner by going after idols, like the Amorites the LORD drove out before Israel.)

Why?  To take power away from men.  The power that comes from living in fear of God, devoted to him.  It is called the “power” of God!  The power of the “Holy Spirit”! ( Samson is the example: Delilah found out the secret to his power and took it from him.)

God shamed the men in Deborah’s situation for not having faith in Him and for letting a women ease their fear and be their leader.  God mocked the men because they were afraid and the women were not.  Saying God would used a woman to get the victory to their shame and embarrassment.

Judges 4:9
“Certainly I will go with you,” said Deborah. “But because of the course you are taking, the honor will not be yours, for the L
ORD will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh. 10 There Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali, and ten thousand men went up under his command. Deborah also went up with him.

To be sure, women, you would do much better to have humble spirits and do as the godly women in the Bible. Sarah submitted to Abraham and was blessed in her old age with a child she thought she would never have. Ruth obeyed her mother in law and had faith in God as she humbly gleaned off a Godly man's field who asked her to marry him and fought for her. She is in the lineage of Christ. Ester obeyed her uncle and humbly went before a king she did not really know. 3X she went and used wisdom and tact and instead of facing the sword she found favor and saved her people. She was risen to a place of esteem through her humbleness, not through grabbing at leadership as her predecessor. Anna was a prophetess who God showed who the Christ child would be. Mary, Mary, and Martha took backseat positions of equality. A contradiction? No, we are all to learn and be disciples but there was not a woman among the 12 for a reason even though there were many devoted women following Christ. Mary, to be sure was the very first evangelists. She saw the empty tomb and the risen Lord first- she was told to go and tell the disciples. Women were among the 120 being filled with the Holy Ghost on Pentecost. Aquilla worked beside her husband and the two of them taught Paul the way of Christ.  And there is a mention to "Our Elect Lady" in the New Testament who very well could have opened up her home to a home church. However, none of these women were in a position to take man's position, to usurp it. The New Testament gives qualifications for men in leadership for a reason and not women.

Paul gives place to virgins who commit their lives to attendance to the Lord. In these women, I believe such as were Mary and Martha and Mary the woman caught in adultery they had utterly given themselves over to the cause of Christ. And many men- evil men and evil women have used Paul's admonition for women to be "silent in the Church," as a way to wrongly dominate and control. These people ought not be in any sort of leadership at all as well. Women are to prophesy and be able to speak as the Spirit gives them utterance, as should children. But  a wise woman finds it a blessing to rule the roost at home and giving her husband the ability to be "known in the gates."

There is one man even men have to obey:  Jesus Christ

God has put his word in our hearts and without the Bible we can't know and do the will of God. But it gives us boldness to read the Bible, (Jesus Christ is the Bible), and obey.  We try our best to obey the Bible on the highway of Holiness.  We are here teaching women to be self-controled, keepers at home, loving their husbands and children.  Why?  That is where God’s anointing is.  He ordained women to do this.
You will not see the anointing, or power of God in the work place because God doesn't Bless the work place, public schools, churches, or even governments who believe/think the blessings of God come in the form of added revenue, profit, increase money or assets.
A man of God/ woman of God has to understand what forms God’s blessing come in. A marriage, a child,  a home to raise the child, animals, crops to feed and care for the family.
God ordains and anoints Fathers and Mothers in the Ten Commandments as the only  true leaders on the earth.  They are the most powerful union, (when Holy), on the face of the earth.   They are so important that God commands that a child be stoned to death if they rebel against their parents, or ”Godly”, teachings”! Praise God we have Jesus to make this not necessary!

A Rebellious Son; (children of the past 70 decades 1950-present day)

Deuteronomy 21:18 If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town.20 They shall say to the elders, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.” 21 Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.

When you go to work you are not doing so in the love and power of God.
Men, fathers, are ordained and anointed by God to work the land. (Even the Levites, priests had to tend their own lands)
Women, mothers are ordained and anointed by God to raise children and do things pertaining to the home.
The church is ordained and anointed by God to teach every word in the Bible!!  Every word.  As if every word is the Truth, is Jesus, is powerful and written by the Hand of Almighty God. Right now many preachers have no faith in the power of a very Holy God and His word.  They only preach about 1,000 twisted words out of the bible.
The government is ordained and anointed by God to protect these God given rights of the God given institute of marriage. The authority of Fathers and Mothers…..

Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ

Ephesains1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship  through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he  made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
11 In him we were also chosen,  having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
Thanksgiving and Prayer
15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit  of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Collosians 1:9……………..
We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, [fn5] 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you [fn6] to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Dueteronomy 28

Blessings for Obedience
1 If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.

We are doing everything we can to obey God and to obey; blessings are what we seek from the hand of Almighty God.   Right now the world is on the wrong road.  They need to get on the right road of obeying God and we can all find out how easy life really is for everyone.  How sicknesses and diseases just dry up and disappear.  Health springs forth on everyone and every living  thing. When the righteous are in power the people rejoice and are glad……

We find out how loving and Good God is!

Extra teaching:

             The Law.

             What is it?

What law did Jesus set us free from, that we now walk by faith and not by sight?

There is a difference between Christians and Jews.

The Jews are taught all kinds of laws and ordinances they have to do in order to be forgiven.  They have sacrifices to make, they have to clean their dishes a certain way at a certain time, they have to circumcise their children when they are 8 days old.   Now all these laws have very practical applications.  There are medical reasons for all  the things they do.  But only the Ten Commandments deals with the soul.  The mind is the soul!  Keeping the mind clean and free from sin.

                                              Our conscience!

Christians believe Jesus died for us, he is the Messiah.  We no longer have to sacrifice animal after animal for different sins.  But there are a lot of things that are good to do.  Watching for different molds are good.  Washing dishes is good.  Circumcision is good.  Jesus  teaches us  a new way, if we eat any deadly thing it will not harm us, we have power over all the power of the enemy, he heals, but the most important thing Jesus did for us is tear apart the curtain, veil in half, so all men can hear from God.  Everyone can have God's word written in our hearts, we have the Holy spirit that gives us self-control so we do not sin any more.  Because sin makes a person sick.  That is why Jesus forgives a person's sin, or the sin someone committed against them, then he heals then says, go and sin no more. It is the Holy Spirit, the power of God!  The most important commandment is to love God and if you love God you would never hurt yourself, (sin against yourself) and you would never hurt anyone made in the image of God, (unless in self-defense).

God puts His love in you and you love everyone with God's love.  The Holy Spirit is the power of God to live sinless on the earth.  Plus when we are dead to ourselves and it is no longer us living but Jesus living through us, we do not sin..  The Holy spirit doesn't sin; Jesus doesn't sin.  The only time a Christian sins is when they turn away from God......  that is why God in His love in us has us tell everyone turn from wanting, desiring, longing for the sin, turn to God, love God He will set you free!!!!!  Where the Spirit, the love of God, the holiness, the purity of God is, there is freedom from all bondage, sickness, disease, broken limbs, blindness, etc........... Freedom from whatever control us, makes you suffer.....

Corinthians 3: 14 But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. 15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Jews still have to have their sins forgiven through sacrifice of animals and they stay healthy through obeying cleanliness.  Which is very good.  But it only through Christ that the insides, our minds, souls can be clean and in the mind can dwell the God head itself, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, causing us to live a holy sinless perfect life before God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love for Enemies: Preach the Gospel to them! Repent!  Be filled with the love of God, receive God's power to live sin free!! Use your freewill!  Say it!  I have my own freewill!  The devil no longer owns me! People can no longer control me, oppress me!  God has set me free from sin and sinful people!

Matthew 5:43  “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor  and hate your enemy.’ 44  But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,45  that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46  If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47  And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48  Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

2 Corinthians 6: 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial ? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“I will live with them
and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”

17 Therefore,

“Come out from them
and be separate, says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you.”

18 And,

“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.”
