Jesus is our Desert
Moses had to go into the dessert for 40 years. Jesus himself, in order to fulfill God's plan and purpose for his life had to go into the dessert for 40 days.
It's a place of Honeymoon with God. It isn't all about testing and temptation by the Devil. After being Baptized by the Flood, Noah and his family, after being baptized by the Red Sea, the children of Israel and after Jesus was baptized by John.
Each having time alone to just be with God. To get to know and trust each other as Husband and wife so they could be witnesses of God's love bringing forth fruit, Children. Multiplying.
Noah received the Rainbow as a marriage vow; Abraham received Circumcision a blood covenant, became the Father of nations and promised land for himself and his posterity, future family. Moses received the Ten Commandments and the Promised land.
The water moved them. They had to move where God gave them land and children.

We as a individuals as well as a family, had to go to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to get slavery and worldliness out of us. We were taught by God how to trust him everyday. We started saying to each ourselves and to others:
