they were my joy and my heart’s delight,
for I bear your name,
2 Corinthians 7:8-13

8
Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— 9 yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 11 See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice/revenge done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter. 12 So even though I wrote to you, it was not on account of the one who did the wrong or of the injured party, but rather that before God you could see for yourselves how devoted to us you are. 13 By all this we are encouraged.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6
3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6 And we will be ready to punish/revenge every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete

When it comes to revenge or justice Romans 12:14 is the only scripture people seem to remember:

Romans 12:14
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

You know this scripture because “criminals” quote this to “disarm” “good” Christian people.

The Power of God is the Gospel; the weapons of our warfare are not cardinal but mighty to the pulling down of strong holds.  Jesus came to destroy the works of iniquity.   All scriptures must make sense together.   You cannot tell someone “repent”, what you are doing is “wrong”, turn to God and at the same time have them beating you to death, robbing you, lying to you, falsely accusing you…..
In letting people treat you badly you are saying, “I don’t have a God powerful enough to protect, restore, and give me vengeance/justice I deserve.”  I am a carpet to be walked all over and have your dirty feet all over my back side…     This is where Paul would say, “God forbid.”
When Jesus was preparing his disciples for his leaving, he wanted them to be prepared in every way. He knew that they would need to protect themselves and their families.
Luke 36 He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. 37 It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”38 The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.” “That’s enough” he replied.
We  are to overcome evil with “Good”!!  God laws, morality, teaching the “Good Principles of Christ”.  Teaching that governments are given to us by God to punish those who do wrong and commend those who do right.

Submission to Rulers and Masters

1 Peter 2:13 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, 14 or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.15 For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. 16 Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. 17 Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.

In our case the government started punish those who  do the right thing and commending those who do the wrong thing. It is backwards.  God is all for justice which is revenge.  We are not supposed to take the law into our own hands, which is what wicked government do and wicked people.  We are to tell the police if someone has wronged us and it goes before a judge and the judge is to administer justice.  Today this does not happen because of mass confusion caused by criminals/lawyers, all lawyers are now criminals.  To have justice you must have truth…  The Truth is essential but lawyers are taught to twist everything thus breaking the true system of Justice.  The result is total anarchy which we have today.  The bad guys have all the guns, (the police and the military), pointed at the good citizens of this country and we are all so terrified by bad guys they walk all over us! Ever heard of the  IRS?

Who is going to

Enforce IRS Policy?  Ever heard of the government? Big business? ACLU? Abortionist? Feminist? Homosexuals? Pacts? Atheist? Who is going to enforce the laws they run down our throats?  These are all people doing wrong according to scripture. Taking away our rights to freedom of speech. Try telling a school child about Jesus, or the Ten Commandments.  Try putting up a manger display.

Peter wrote the above scripture understanding Christ reconciling all men to God. So when Peter said the above scripture, he said submit to Government  after you do good, obey God by preaching the Gospel.  Peter disobeyed all kings and said Jesus is the King.  He refused to stop talking in the name of Jesus.  Peter walked right out of jail…  Peter is saying obey governments that allow you to live in harmony, at peace.  That actually punish wrong doings and reward good behavior.  Paul is saying the Power of “Good” in you will overcome those who persecute you, your enemies, the “good” Holy Spirit will convict them of their sins, cause them to repent, after they repent, "then do good to them." "Feed them, cloth them, etc." John did not baptize people until they brought forth fruits of repentance.  I have had to do this in my own life.  When broken people, who would hurt me, did hurt me, I still helped them because I had seen their willingness to change, to hear from God to stop sinning.  But they were not able to love me back the same.  They had some soul searching, soul mending, learning the truth, healing to do before they would be able to stop hurting me in different areas of our lives together.

Paul is not talking about those who seek you out to hurt you.  The Body of Christ itself stayed away from Paul for years because he sat by and watch one Christian be murder and Paul was set on killing all Christians or jailing them…  but the body of Christ did get revenge, justice.  Paul suffered his entire life after Jesus stopped his persecution of them…  God does not want us to suffer.  Jesus suffered for us.  He does not want people hurting us, he died to heal us..  He does not want people stealing from us, he came so God would be our Father and provide for us…

Submit yourselves to God; resist the devil and he will flee.  Our founding fathers did government right.  When government started using government for their personal financial gain, to oppress cause bad laws they submitted to God and resisted the devil.   Jesus reconciled all principatities, and power unto himself.

Governments must submit to Jesus Christ Lordship.  The "Bible!!!"
